Demi-dees
Part one of a two part series
“Demi-Dees”, short for Demi-god of Hades, is a fantasy novel, first of two, that focuses on Nile, who’s normal life hiding the fact that he’s Hades’ son is shattered when his mother is killed by a monster targeting him. Having part of his soul ripped out, he is patched up with parts of Hades’ and for his safety, he’s relocated to Hera’s University for Demi-gods. Here he tries to cope and distract himself from his PTSD and searing pain in his soul, all the while waiting for the gods to find the one who’s making abnormal Soul Eaters strong enough to kill even them. Embracing college life, he meets friends and bonds over sharing abilities, even though his are a little eerie at times. He begins to show abilities to see and manipulate Souls that not even Hades has. When the school is attacked, he faces the choice of leaving his friends to join the Gods to learn more about why his Soul was targeted in the first place.
This story rewrites the narrative of Hades and Persephone, twisting the stories of the Greek Gods, and explores themes of uncomplicated love, self-harm, and friendship.
