“Romance Lost to a Prophecy” is a fantasy novel that focuses on both Lyal, a young man who’s been reborn a Weapons Expert in another world and just wants to travel, and Kubo, a young man who can see the future. Like every relationship there is fear of getting hurt, except Kubo has seen it. Now it’s the only thing he can see. The past, the present, and his tormented murder that distorts it all. The village needs someone to save it, but he doesn’t want to be that sacrifice. His place among them is determined by his worth to the foreseen arrival of a “Saint.” He’s not among those that get to be saved, and yet Lyal says otherwise. He’s a liar, but Lyal would happily lie to save Kubo from his village’s expectations. There is no risk to himself until he actually falls in love with the man. Questioning his own understanding of himself, Lyal’s heart is broken when Kubo falls in love with the man in his visions.
